I hate what Ozempic has done to my partner.

My partner is not diabetic nor was she obese but she decided to start Ozempic after her weight loss began plateauing. She was upfront to me about going on the drug, and I was supportive. But 2 years later, she stopped going to the gym, she's still not satisfied with the weight loss, and even worse - she's obsessed with the fact that her butt is now flat and her facial skin is wrinklier. I think she looks great but the body dysmorphia is starting to affect our sex life. I'm at a loss and hoping someone else can share what has helped if you've experienced something similar.

Have you considered trying to find a gym or workout activity that you could go to together? Maybe that would be a nice way to reconnect and get her back into working out

It sounds tough. Weight loss is hard in general-then add on the emotional/mental part-it’s even harder. Can you guys do things together that empower her to try something fun/new that’s active? That msg help you connect and help her find her groove again. It sounds like she needs continued support. That can look different in many ways. Ask her what would help her, even directly how you can support her. Let her talk about her body changes without having answers. Understand it’s super complex and it takes time. It’s not easy, but until she’s happy with herself (and for many this takes counseling)-it’s a journey. Communication, grace, patience and support are more helpful than you may realize.
